报告人简介:

Rishikesh P. Bhalerao,博士,教授,1993Umea University取得博士学位,2004年受聘于Umea 植物科学研究中心(UPSC)教授。现任北京林业大学林木分子设计育种高精尖创新中心研究组PI。长期以杨树与拟南芥为模式材料,围绕多年生木本植物感知外界环境并进行周期性生长的调控机制,以及植物细胞伸长生长的分子基础和细胞生长过程中细胞壁物质的运输机制等方面进行系统研究。在Nature、Science、Nature Cell Biology、Current Biology、Genome Biology、Genome Research、Nature Communication、PNAS、Plant Cell、Nature Plant 等植物学顶尖学术杂志发表论文80余篇,是国际植物生物学领域的著名专家。


报告摘要:

Trafficking via the trans-Golgi Network (TGN) plays a key role in plant development. TGN is a hub for trafficking and is involved in secretory trafficking as well as endocytic trafficking being the early endosome in plants. Although numerous proteins have been identified at the TGN, TGN structure and function remains far from being understood. We earlier identified a TGN localized protein ECHIDNA (ECH) as a being required for secretory trafficking. To better understand ECH function we performed a suppressor screen and identified a dominant, gain of function suppressor named BTN1. I will describe our latest results on ECH and BTN function at the TGN.
